Traditional nursery monitors transmit sound, but are unable to detect breathing movements.The Angelcare® concept came to be from Maurice Pinsonnault, a new father overwhelmed with the anxiety which all new parents face.

He heard of an existing monitor in the United Kingdom able to detect babies’ breathing movements. At the time, it was a very expensive medical device not easily affordable for most parents. Maurice Pinsonnault bought the patent rights and after extensive research and development, Angelcare® was born.
