Quercetti
Creating fun toys which at the same time help kids develop their intellectual and physical capabilities, stimulating their reasoning, creativity, manufacture and social relationships: far back in 1950s this idea inspired Alessandro Quercetti to establish Quercetti & C. Spa in Turin. Taking care of all the aspects of the company personally – from product design to study of materials, from creating the mould to production, from packaging to sales – he succeeded in achieving an incredible result for more than 50 years: numerous completely innovative toys, developed following revolutionary concepts, that are certainly on the cutting edge, which with their birth, marked fundamental milestones in the history of toys.
The adventure started with the creation of a motorized pony with a rider that could gallop in the 50s, which had so much success, that it made transforming a passion into an organized business possible.

At the end of the 50s, comes forth Coloredo, which is another exceptional idea. Inspired by the cartoon tablets and wooden pegs, Quercetti invented plastic pegs and tablet creating a game that kept millions of children company during their growth. Available in many models, colors and dimensions, they allowed for realizing infinite compositions, and for creating and inventing new designs every time.
With the help of his experience as a fighter plane pilot and following the echoes and emotions of the first space launches in the 60s, Alessandro Quercetti creates Tor, a missile with elastic that can reach a height of hundred meters. By applying principles of aerodynamics and inventing a delayed opening mechanism that allows for deploying the parachute upon reentry to Earth, he developed an extraordinarily new game; Tor. It has been produced for 40 years and it is the most sold Quercetti toy with millions of them shipped all around the world.
From an analysis of the school life, magnetic toys have been developed in the 70s: letters, numbers and geometric shapes that can be stuck on special boards to get children familiar with the alphabet, mathematics and composition in a functional, colorful and creative way. The product shipped and the orders placed were so much that a new establishment with a new factory was needed, where Quercetti carries out all its production today.Â
The 80s witnessed the birth of two absolutely ingienious toys with strong didactic values which won numerous international prizes and are still in production today. Namely, Rami e Pallino.
Rami allows for a first contact with computer science and explains the binary tree and Boolean algebra in a very very simple way; Pallino uses the composition of realistic or graphic pictures with colored balls to teach colors and to make a first contact with a personal computer.
In the same period, the company got stronger with the arrival of the three sons who carried it to international platform making it highly competitive.

In 2003, the family of Quercetti toys got bigger with another extraordinary invention: Skyrail – Suspended Runway. It is a runway that can be constructed using piers and joints suspending straight and curved rails on cables that can be regulated down on which marbles are to be rolled fast. Once again, we are talking about an absolutely innovative game which has won four international prizes and has been nominated among the ten best educational toys of the year in the World.
Today, like in the past, Quercetti carries out all its production at its factory in Turin which has been constantly updated technologically reaching a high quality and complete safety in its toys: from design to mould production, from stamp to assembly, from controls to packaging, everything is handled internally to deliver the product in absolute terms. The result is the Quercetti toys: innovative, safe, never self-repeating, non-violent, educational and stimulating. So special, that they allow Quercetti write a long history of toys.
